Karashi (Japanese Mustard) is a mustard that Japanese people use to flavor a variety of dishes such as oden, cold noodles, tonkatsu, or natto, among others. Kurashi mustard has a yellow and spicy pungent flavor similar to wasabi, which differs from regular mustard, which is often mixed with vinegar or other ingredients to dilute it. This karashi mustard comes in powder form. Simply combine with water and thoroughly stir to obtain authentic Japanese mustard. It goes well with your favorite menu.
How to make Karashi mustard. (For 100 grams of mustard powder)
• Mix 150 ml of clean water with the mustard powder bit by bit, gently stir well to form a paste and set aside for 2-3 minutes before eating.
• As needed, adjust the amount of water to increase or decrease the concentration of karashi.
• The mixed mustard should be consumed immediately.
• If you can’t finish it, store it in a container with a tight-fitting lid. Because karashi mustard loses its smell and flavor when exposed to air.
• Keep cool and dry. Avoid direct sunlight.
